Rachel O'Sullivan

Rachel O'Sullivan is a Senior Paediatric Occupational Therapist registered with the HCPC and a certified Sensory Integration Practitioner. With 15 years of clinical experience, she specializes in helping children overcome barriers to learning and play. Her focus areas include dyspraxia, handwriting difficulties, and sensory regulation strategies.

Rachel O'Sullivan graduated with a BSc in Occupational Therapy and has dedicated her career to paediatrics, working in both NHS Child Development Centres and independent practice. She holds advanced post-graduate certification in Ayres Sensory Integration®, making her an expert in understanding how children process sensory information and how this affects their behavior and learning. Rachel works daily with children facing challenges such as Developmental Coordination Disorder (Dyspraxia), fine motor delays affecting handwriting, and self-regulation difficulties. She is particularly skilled at distinguishing between behavioral issues and sensory needs, helping parents and teachers create 'sensory diets' that support focus in the classroom. Rachel advocates for learning through play and physical activity, emphasizing that movement is crucial for brain development. She provides practical, home-based exercises that fit into family life, avoiding the need for expensive equipment. Her mission is to help every child achieve independence in daily activities, from tying shoelaces to managing cutlery, thereby boosting their confidence and participation in social life.
