Fiona MacGregor

Fiona MacGregor is an Independent SEN Consultant with 25 years of experience in the UK education sector. A former SENCO and Head of Inclusion, she holds a National Award for SEN Coordination. Fiona specializes in guiding families through the Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) process and securing appropriate school provision.

Fiona MacGregor spent the first decade of her career as a primary school teacher before specializing as a Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) and eventually becoming a Head of Inclusion in a large comprehensive school. Her extensive experience on the 'other side of the desk' gives her unique insight into how schools and Local Authorities operate regarding funding and support allocation. Currently working as an independent advocate, Fiona helps parents navigate the complex bureaucracy of the Children and Families Act 2014, specifically focusing on EHCP needs assessments and appeals. she is passionate about ensuring that medical needs are properly quantified in Section F of educational plans. Fiona is deeply knowledgeable about the rights of children with disabilities, school admissions appeals, and the reality of classroom support versus statutory requirements. She aims to empower parents with the legal literacy and tactical knowledge required to secure the support their children are legally entitled to.
